I'm seeing attacks on Hillary Clinton now for her hair, her makeup or lack of it, and her haggard look.
First I wondered why people seem to hate her so much when I think she is quite wonderful. I saw her speak years ago, even before Bill was President and I loved her as did her whole audience. It was in Denver.
But now I think I understand the "Hillary hating." It's more than "haters gotta hate." It has to do with lots of people who have never learned a basic spiritual truth--that when you find yourself extremely disliking someone or even "hating" that person, look inside yourself and figure out what that person challenges inside yourself. Hillary Clinton is a good person. Does she make you angry because you secretly, or maybe not so secretly, believe that you yourself are not such a good person? Do you not like yourself? Then why not "hate Hillary"?
Now we're all going to pay for this Hillary hating. We have King Midas for Prez., who is going to show us how he can turn all our "gold" into lead.
Views on anything that tugs at my interest and imagination, the knowable and unknowable. At my age--beyond middle--I hope that nothing is unthinkable for me.

Gwen Ifill's Passing
I have just learned of the death yesterday of Gwen Ifill of the PBS Newshour, and I feel as if I have lost a close personal friend. Amazing how someone who comes into one's living room pretty much five days a week over a period of many years can seem so close. She was an amazing journalist and I always thought she told only what she knew was fact and if she spoke an opinion on the air she said so. I have never felt such a personal loss of a public figure before. She was a magnificent human being.
